She rose to prominence with her role as Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades film series (2015–2018), which brought her international recognition. Johnson has also starred in acclaimed films such as Suspiria (2018), The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019), and Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022). She is set to portray Lowen Ashleigh in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel Verity. A member of the Hollywood dynasty, she is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith and the granddaughter of actress Tippi Hedren.
