Morgan Grant[]
Jonah began developing romantic feelings for Morgan, who was his best friend's girlfriend at the time, during their teenage years. They were best friends, talked and confided in each other. The day after Morgan told him that she was pregnant, he left town and didn't return until seventeen years later.
Years later, when he came back to town, he felt that Morgan was beginning to avoid him which hurt his feelings. After the car wreck, they started spending more time together over the betrayal, ending up almost kissing on the kitchen floor.
Jenny Davidson[]
Jonah briefly dated Jenny in high school, despite having feelings for her sister. He broke up with her and left town after graduating. Sixteen years later, she showed up at his father's funeral in Minnesota, and they ended up having a one-night stand. She later informed him of her pregnancy, he moved back to Texas as they resumed their relationship, and after the child was born, got engaged.
However, after her death, he found out that she had an on-going affair with his best friend, and that she had tricked Jonah in bed in order to hide the baby's true paternity.

Jonah is Elijah's father, and has been present since he was born. Despite not being biologically his, he didn't even want a paternity test, stating it would be waste of money because Elijah is his son in every way.
