Sydney Lawson (née Blake) is a main character in the Maybe book series. She falls in love with next-door neighbor musician, Ridge Lawson, when the two bond over music, and start co-writing songs together.
Sydney and Ridge eventually marry, and four year later, are expecting a baby together.

Ridge and Sydney have a small cameo in this book which was approved by Colleen Hoover. Ridge is in LA recording in the studio where he meets Franco (male protagonist). Sydney is also there accompanying Ridge and she is also introduced to Franco. They talk a little and Ridge says he is in Sounds of Cedar but also plays solo.
